windshield washers

Was the windshield washer an option or standard equip. in 1985? My multifunction stalk has the thumb switch with the washer icon on it. No pink and white wires at the harness that runs down the drivers side fender well where the reservoir mounts.

Thanks VileZambonie. I will need to go to the main connector at the bottom of the steering column to find the wires coming from the wiper switch, they are not at the reservoir/pump location on the L/H inner fender. The PO may have deleted the wiring and reservoir.
