I have a suggestion, don't get in anything deep enough where it becomes a problem.

Sorry I just couldn't help it

If you are just worried about dirt and mud run a factory style air cleaner with a foam element. If you really want a snorkel just make sure it's solid not dryer hose and sealed tight. I saw a guy use vinyl tubing and it sucked in, bye bye piston rings.

I found out that if you hit a mud hole at 50 water and mud get everywhere in your engine compartment, including past the paper element and into your carburetor. I am wondering if there is a company out there that makes a snorkel setup other than ARB's expensive one.

Anyone have any experience with this?
