just added power windows
« on: July 27, 2006, 09:25:00 pm »
i just added power windows to my '80 model. i got used regulators but they tested good on the bench. now that i have them installed the passenger side will roll down, well it did once, but it wont roll up. i have put a new switch in and it still wont. it still trys to roll down because i can hear the motor clicking when i hit down on the switch. i tested for 12 volts when i hit the "up" side and power is getting out of the switch and to the wire but nothing happens with the motor. i can only assume that it is getting power to the motor but i cant test it because with the window down i cant reach down there to check it. is there something i am missing? any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't know if it's possible, but can you see if the regulator roller has maybe come out of the channel when the window is full down?

You need to reverse the polarity of the motor. The ground and B+ need to be reversed.
