front springs

[1978 3/4]

if i remove lift blocks from rear,1978 3/4 Chevy,the fronts going to be high ,because i had a shop install stiffer coils ten years ago,how hard is it to install stock springs at home ? I'm trying to get the stock ride back

Coils?  This is a 2WD truck?  It is pretty easy to install, just be careful.  You have to jack the front up and remove the wheel, and lower shock mount.  Then you have 2 options.  Remove the rear U-bolts connected to the crossmember OR remove the lower ball joint.  I highly recommend putting a jack under the spring pocket THEN removing whichever you choose and then releasing pressure lowering the control arm.

Yes its a 2wheel drive,first I'm going to lower the rear to stock spec's
I think its 34' and then fig front 32',the previous owner had a big cab over camper on it,so he must have installed 1.5 lift block on rear,
and he may have added leafs to spring,I think thats why the ride sucks! when replacing frt coils
manual states to get sprig compressor,is that right?

Please - use a chain through the spring just in case the spring lets go.  You would not want to be in the path of the spring if it does.   I put new coils on mine and it wasn't that hard.

when i redid the steering and ball joints in my 79 i put cahins around the springs then just slowly let them down with a floor jack- it worked pretty slick and i was gald i put cahins on them cuz the one did kinda bounce out
you might want to think about doing ball joints while you got it apart
