Looking for some shop manuals
« on: March 11, 2008, 08:05:27 am »
Someone here posted a link to a website that sells factory shop manuals (reprints) along with other literature for these trucks.  The person that mentioned it said they got a full set of wiring diagrams for a blazer from there.

Problem is, I can't seem to find the post again!  I had been to the site before and found some stuff I wanted to get for my 79, but now that I have some cash burning a hole in my pocket I can't for the life of me remember the link.  I've tried the "search" function but can't bring up the specific post.

I got some years ago from Helm. Best money I ever spent on a book.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

You can try these
http://www.helminc.com/helm/homepage.asp?r=http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=factory+service+manuals%3F
or ebay for a factory service manual
Thanks, those may do the trick.  I've been watching just factory service manuals on eBay, and people are silly money for them.  The last two I was watching went for $24.50 and $31.50.  For around $40 I can get a reprint that will have no one else's finger prints on it but my own.

How is the factory repair manual set from Helms?  Is the information identical to the original?  Getting the Factory man, Unit repair man, and wiring diagrams for $75 seems like a decent deal.

One other question:  A previous owner dropped a NP208 in my '79 (1983 date stamp, I'm guessing it originally came with a 203), will my Haynes manual be sufficient to repair/overhaul this if need be?

If you have your owners manual, look in the back and it will give you an idea as to how it compares to what Helms sell!!  I'll give you a hint, chances are good that you will find the Helm name staring back at you ;) Helm is the Company most OEM Manufacturers go through, to have their manuals printed, etc....

Actually, I don't have the owners manual, and I was hoping to get the name of the site I had visited because they had reprints for $9 if memory serves.  It's a little more expensive through Helms, but it's one-stop shopping.
