pinion angle again ?

hey its me again, went to the trak recently and before i went again i got under truck to check everything and found my alm u joint girdles had hit on all four corners, made about 5 runs after lowering (prior to finding this), put some stock girdles on went back and everthing seems fine. were the alm ones just to far out towards the drive shaft ? thanks

looks like when rear end turned up the girdles hit the driveshaft @ each bolt on the alum girdles. i had not had this problem until i lowered the truck earlier this year

This is a girdle. Why is your truck wearing a girdle? Does it think it's fat?
Ok seriously I'm still not following you. Are you saying the yoke is contacting the companinon flange on the driveshaft? Do you have a 2 piece driveshaft? Post pix if you can and try to elborate a little better.

a u joint girdle is the caps that hold the u joint to the reaer end yoke

Those are called straps. If the straps are hitting the actual shaft you have an extreme driveshaft angle. How did you lower the rear axle? even with an axle flip you shouldn't have that severe a pinion angle that you are having these major clearance issues. Again one or 2 piece shaft?

one piece, rear hangers n shackles spindals n front 3/4 straps my bad i call them girdles lol

All the ones I dropped or seen dropped with shackles and hangers require pinion shims, but they don't have that issue. Did you remove the u-bolts holding the axle to put the shackle/hangers on?

Well definitely set your pinion angle then if that's how you lowered it.

yes i did remove u bolts and it already has shims, i'm thinking the moroso u joint "straps" were to long for it when it was lowered never had this problem prior. ?
