Tuning?
« on: October 21, 2008, 05:48:37 pm »
My '75 (350 w/ a Rochester 4 barrel) tends to die as I put on the brakes when coming to a stop. Shifting into gear from a standstill works fine, so I"m leaning towards a problem with the carb or something of that nature. I've tried to mess with the air/fuel mix and haven't had too much luck. It has the manual choke which I make sure is fully open once it is warmed up. Anyone had any experience with anything like this? I've heard more than one person to tell me just to get an edelbrock or holley carb but I hate to drop the money when I'm not even positive that's the problem.

Thanks.

check the throttle shaft for wear and make sure the linkage isn't binding. Lube everything up good and re-adjust your base idle speed.
