Personally, I prefer the saddle tanks over tanks between the frame rails, even though they're supposedly more dangerous and harder to work around.

As for mounting sliders with your tank in the way, I'd have to go look at mine to refresh my memory about tank positioning, but I think you can mount the sliders to the frame at both ends of the tank.

OK i know I'm new here ain't even got a picture up yet but those Nerf bars are universal fit. the gas tank is in the way but  competitor.com has them also I'm trying a crew cab Nerf bar on my standard cab maybe it will work have to see.
