caddy motor help

has anyone put a 472 or 500 caddy motor in to there truck i have a 87 k10 and thinking of doing it. what do u all think and can i be done to it

fairly popular swap expecially from diesels.  There is a couple guys on here with some experience.

Not a bad swap...You will want/need : Engine mounts from a RWD Caddy, the Left exhaust manifold from a RWD. You will need to either use an adapter plate for the BOP/Caddy bell housing (only option if you want to use a 700r4) or have the 4x4 output shaft put in a BOP/Caddy bell housing tranny. The front crossmember will need notched for the oil filter & a few wires (HEI, ect.) need altered. That's the basics, Lorne

Agree with haulin. I had a 78c10 with 472 in it. Never got to drive it do to a wasted motor when I got it. Those Caddy 472's and 500's have sooo much power it should be illegal! Good luck with the swap. The best way to get around notching the crossmember is a remote filter mount.
