Im currently working on the cab of my something crew cab.I got the bare cab from a yard and right now im fixing the rust..Both full rockers, drivers side floor, both cab corners.I'm working on my tow rig project and dont have to have the body perfect, if its a 20/20 truck im fine (20 feet away at 20 miles an hour.) Ive used brush on seam sealer at the floor edge where it meets the rockers.I used a complete rocker cut from a suburban and the rear cab section from the original 2 door cab. I made the two rockers meet at the middle of the rear door, then welded in a new cab corner. It came out pretty good and im satisfied with the results. But while getting the door jamb area ready for primer i saw some surface rust at the top of the jamb area. I cleaned it up with a wirebrush and i used the brush on seam sealer there.
So my problem is that i needed to wire the area that the roof panel meets the sides. I tried the brush on but it didnt look all that great.. Ive seen some that are sold in a tube for a caulking gun.. Im assuming that i squeeze it in there and run my finder to smooth it out? Does this sound correct. I was gonna use bondo but fear that it will crack and fall out from flexing. I heard from a body guy here in queens that i could use liquid nails from homo depot?
Can somebody clear all this up so i can order the right seam sealer.
