So Chris, I also have my crew cab headliner out of my '73 - it came our fairly intact.  Trying to decide what approach to take in repairing the rough spots and tears.  I've brushed all the old failed foam from the fiberboard, and now I'm considering a thin coat of resin, top and bottom in order to strengthen it some, then go over it with the old vintage foam backed perforated vinyl.  I prefer that to the newer velour type.

Thoughts?

If you go this route, be gentle with the resin.  These boards were not strong especially if it is deteriorating.  The extra weight could pull down the ends.

I noticed a update on FB, have you fitted it yet? Has there been any talk on pricing? Are they going to be made from fiberglass?

How are you going to deal with mating the two pieces together or will the final piece be one?

You do know that the Suburban ones were split also right?  There will be a slight ridge to overlap and it can be cemented together.
I haven't finished fitting it to the truck yet.  Was too cold over the Holidays and my wife had surgery on her foot so she has to be tended to some  on the weekends when I have free time.
