Thanks for the welcome guys.

I have an 81 Chevy 3/4 ton with a 540 hp 468.  I drove this truck to high school and was the envy of all the guys in auto mechanics with me.  We have done a lot of work to it since then.  We replaced the "tired" engine with the 468.  The engine had well over 200,000 miles on it and was using a little oil, about a quart every week or so.  If you let it idle too long, the spark plugs would fowl.  The truck itself has over 400,000 miles on it.  We replaced the hood, which a horse tried to eat the paint off of and had lots of hail damage on it, with a cowl induction hood.  The fenders were replaced with donors off a suburban.   The seat has been reupholstered, as well as new carpet and the door panels painted.  Next step is the bed being replaced.  After all the body work is done comes paint, which will be a while.  It will go back yellow and tan when we get to that step.  This truck has taken a back seat to the extended cabs, which is fine because they are awesome trucks.  I would rather wait and let this one be done right.  Its not going anywhere.  This truck will be in the family long after we are dead.

She has and will crawl under the hood of anything we have. When it comes to brakes, she prefers fixing the drum brakes over the disc brakes, and when it comes to getting your hands into little spaces, she is the best tool I have. Now, as far as driving, high horsepower is wasted on her. Her truck will easily smoke my trucks, but you couldnt tell by the way she drives it, of course thats why she get better gas mileage than I do. Her WS6 Trans Am is wicked fast, but she drives it so I can stay out of jail. ;D But I do get to play with both vehicles every once in a while. Gotta keep the soot blown out, right? Her truck has more than enough power, really alot more than needed, but I came across a good deal on it, and swapped her 350 for the 468 straight across the board. Both were fresh engines, less than 5k miles each. The guy just wanted something for better mileage. It will smoke the tires with the stock trailer attatched.

He used to take me to school in this truck when we were dating, then when we got married, I was still in high school, so it was what I drove to school.  I won't tell you what he had to drive.  He can do that if he wishes.  It is still both of ours, but I have laid claim to it.  I can drive his toys too, all except the standards, not too good at that, and his bike.  His bike is way too big for me, besides its a standard too.  I love these old trucks.  The kids in our youth group call them antiques, but we know better.

When we first got married I had to change the sparkplugs on this truck and Kelly thought I had given up because he couldn't see me anywhere around.  He decided he would finish the job for me, but when he got to the front of the truck, I was sitting in the engine compartment changing them myself.

I do not mind working on my/our trucks at all.
