Trying to keep the price down but looking for the best bang for the buck.  What kind/rating do you guys have?  My trailer is rated at 7K lbs but only a 14 ft dovetail, steel floor.

How heavy are the vehicles you plan to tow?  Will these be rolling projects(no locked up brakes or flat tires)? A 3000 pound winch is on the light side but you  can double it's pulling power with a pulley. For occasional use this may get you buy.
I have a 18' car trailer set up with a Superwinch 9000 pound winch. It may be overkill for what you need but it will pull one of our full size trucks up the ramps with 4 flat tires, locked up brakes, in park, whatever you can think of.

I've got one just like that.  It pulls cars right up on the trailer, but I have to give 4500lb+ vehicles a little push to get over the hump at the bottom of the ramps.  once over the hump it works fine.  i wouldnt buy it for daily use, since it's lighter duty but it's great for stuck or broken down cars now and then.

I actually had one like this for my previous trailer.  It did ok but had some troubles with the where the switch plugged in and it would temp up and shut down.  It reset after it cooled.  My uses would be the occasional full sized 73-87 when I run across a deal.  Usually a complete truck that rolls.  Ideally some sort of quick attach to the trailer to keep it out of the weather.  I already have 10-2 wire from the battery to the rear plug on the trailer.  Thanks for the input, keep it coming...
