steering colum and intermedate shaft

OK went to the junk yard and got a new steering column and intermediated shaft, mine had a "c" clamp to connect the two together and the one i pieced up from the yard had a center bolt, my question is what year did they Chang this. i like this design better then the "c" clamp

C-Clamp I believe was until 1976 then they changed to what it is now.  I am sure someone knows for sure.

It was sometime between 76-78 I believe.  Don't know that one for sure.

I have a 79 3/4 ton 4x4 with the c clamp in it too
