Finally the power is back on

We lost power back on Tuesday of last week and it is finally back on today. Thank you winter storm 09!
Would not have been so bad if we didn't have the little guy fresh from the hospital. Everyone is fine and we are getting back to normal. We could not even get to town until Sunday to get supplies, power lines and a 5' thick elm tree blocked the road.
My oldest son ran to the door yesterday and said that there were trucks just like his outside. My wife and I thought he was talking abotu the bucket trucks until there was a knock on the door. Much to my surprise there were 4 humvee's parked in my driveway and several national guards bringing water and food to us and doing health checks since they heard there was a newborn in the house.
It was a very nice surprise to say the least.
Hope everyone in the affected area is doing well.

Glad to hear also your doing well as well as your family.I watched the news and they showed someones yard in kentucky and a tree snapped at the root cause of all the weight from the ice and almost hit their cadillac.I was like wow thats gotta be some serious weather there getting there. As well as the northeast. If there was a way to send some of floridas weather to your area and up north ifind a way to help out.But glad to hear your ok as well as your newborn.Keep us informed on how your doing ok?
thanks

I'm glad all is well and slowly getting back to normal. I watched the news several days ago and they said KY got hit hard and they are sending the nat'l guard, state of emergency, etc... That same storm put ice here in VA but it wasn't as bad as KY. Our lights didn't even flicker. That's quite a story to tell the young one when he gets older.

Glad all is well. That's pretty cool about the national guard. I don't think anything like that would happen here. Keep that baby warm.
