Take a look at the teeth on the flexplate. See if any of them are damaged.

thay aint messed up  thats the first thing i checked.  i shimmed it down and it aint bad now  i think i need one more to make it perfect tho

I'm thinking more to the effect of the starter going up since it worked b4 with no problem and now sitting it wants to be stupid almost like the spindle isn't kicking out far enough, not even sure what its called the gear in the starter thats kicked out buy the solenoid

thanks for the reply eurolarva so far so good the only thing left is 1black 2 whites 1 purple.    the letters i have left is.. i  and 2m,s     I put black to the one m   both whites to the other m and the purple to i    on back of the switch package it said i =ignition solenoid  m = magneto& ground. s= start  b= battery     I have no tach and no blue wire  a little more help and i think i will have it.

ok for the past few days i have been shoveling mud off the bank all it has done here is RAIN and there is a big mud hole under my truck  so i have been shoveling mud and shoveling and i found a big rock that goes from one end to the other so i am going to drill it out and build a wall out of 6x6s around the carport and that should take care of that then i need to clean up my tools and parts and it is back to the truck and tear down until i can get concrete and close it in i will have pics of the progress

w00t I passed many a truck today. Few were lit up like christmas trees as it was daylight but still. Trucks.
