Hello from California
« on: February 14, 2009, 01:30:24 am »
My name is Foster, I just found your forum here, seems like a great place for information. Which is great, because once you see pictures of my truck I think you will all agree I've got my work cut out for me.

1975 Chevy K-10
Not too worried about making her pretty, just gonna sand it down (ALOT!) and paint it flat black. It's gonna be my four wheeling rig so paint and body work aren't too high on my priority list. In the past couple of months I have got her running and worked most of the kinks out, had to replace all of the power steering from gear box, to the pump. Still working on a few things but she's getting there. I am getting ready to install a six inch lift and throw on some 35's, hopefully I can get her painted in that time as well. She looks a little better thabn these pics show, no more canopy, some paint work done, new hood, still need a grill though. Anyways, I look forward to getting to know everybody, I'll keep you updated as progress is made.

Here is the reason I got the truck, my other baby. I really needed something that I am capable of working on physically. I can't get under this car, I can't get my hands in the engine bay, I can barely change the oil. But she sure is fun.

Welcome Foster, Ya she is kinda rough. I don't think that truck was from CA, unless it was a beach truck.

Welcome from New Hampshaa.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

Thanks for the welcome everybody. If you look in the background of the first picture Joe, that body of water is Humboldt bay. She was parked there for about 5 years, so I guess you could say she is a beach truck.  ;) It's alot of surface rust, only a few sectons of rot, and nothing that big. I have already covered is in ospho once and plan on doing it again after I sand it all down.

Welcome to the site!
It looks like mostly surface rust which isn't that bad unless it got to deep.

Yeah, it is mostly surface rust. The roof is the worst part and is going to take the longest but it should all asand out. The only rot is drivers side floor, passenger side cab corner, passenger side door sill, and some of the bed. The floor might be worse, I haven't got the carpet up yet, and I replaced the hood. Thanks for the warm welcome everybody.
