Speaker Kick panel Pods in the Catalog
« on: February 19, 2009, 02:00:49 PM »

There are 2 styles of kick panels half style and full.  Heater vs AC doesn't matter on either as one is manually activated the other is control operated.  The Vent has nothing to do with the kick panel pod.
I designed the full style version so you can actually push the pedal to the floor, BUT, you won't be able to do it with you whole foot.  Again, if it is adjusted properly this is a non issue.

half style:

This is the half style pod you get when you order it:

This is the half style installed in a truck:

Full (Silverado) style factory panels with the pods mocked on them:

This is the actual pod:

Do these HALF pods just sit over the original kick panel? Also, I assume these sound better then door speakers???

The half versions go behind the factory uppers and attach to the kick panels with dual-loc fasteners.

With the 1/2 versions (Scottsdale) is there any issue with the e-brake pedal?  Mine is a stick and I use it all the time.

Not if you keep it adjusted properly.

If I read between the lines, the pedal will hit through the full travel of the pedal then?

Yes, if you want to push it all the way to the floor, it will hit the pod.  My Crew Cab doesn't hit, but I also keep it adjusted..

Chris, now that you have mastered the art of the speaker pods. How about trying gauge pods for the A-pillar of our trucks. I've seen them for newer ones but not ours. Just something to think about. Well that was stupid just after I asked that I read the next one where someone asked the same thing. Sorry to repeat that.

Well there is a grey set on both..
Everything above "Full (Silverado) style" is the half style and everything below is the full style.
