Took some pics.

Was real nice out yesterday. Took the camera with me to get gas.
My house from Ragged Mountain Rd., not as buried as last year, yet!
My house through my neighbors back yard. Took the pic from the state road N.H. Route 104. Ragged Mountain Rd. runs between our houses.
Taken from the same spot as the last one turned 90 degrees to toward the south. The house on the edge of the water was where the family lived that ran the power station that used to be on the property in the early 1900's. The dam has been somewhat dismantled but still forms a large pond area.
Same spot but the other side of Rt 104 looking north. The farm in the distance was a milk and pig farm way back when. Still raised hogs when I was a kid but was semi retired. They raise beef there now. House is empty, the guy that I rent my place from owns it, but lives in the house on his abutting property.
Same farm from west on Rt 104 3/4 of a mile.
From same spot turned about 75 degrees north. Forbes Mountain in the distance.
This is the abutting property mentioned before, right up the road from where I grew up. Was a dairy farm until 1988. When we were kids about a half hour before feed time we used to steal a pumpkin or gord out of his garden and sneak out into the pasture and jamb it onto one of the critters horns. Then sit in the woods and watch when he called them into feed. He wood get ugly because the critter was more interested in trying to lick the juice running down his head. The big red barn / stable / ridding ring was not there until a few years ago. Its a horse farm now.
Taken from down the road a mile or so. Road turns 90 degrees, runs two sides of the property. the first house in town stood across the road from the barn that is still there, now attached to the house The area I am standing was a Native American village when Louis Taylor, and Amos Smith paddled up stream and decided to put down roots here. There are still descendants of both their families living in town. Smith River runs just behind the trees on the other side of the right side of the field.
Same spot looking toward the south. You can see Ragged Mountain in the distance.
This farm is right on the corner from the horse farm. It has been non operational ever since I can remember. Some federal court judge owns it, and his kids use it most of the time. In the early 1900's the local judge lived there. it was not uncommon for him to hold court in the barn while milking his cows.

And he's looking at getting another foot of white gold today/tonight! I'm on the MA/NH border and we're supposed to get 6" here.
Blazin, when
Fritz Wetherbee
finally decides to call it a career, you should apply for the job.
** Link provided for those who have no clue who I'm talking about.
By the way, nice pics of a seldom seen side of NH. Still looks a lot like Vermont in your neck of the woods.

Athol, MA. About 10 miles south of NH and 15 miles east of the Connecticut River.

Thanks for sharing, I bet the fall is as nice or better. The farthest north I ever got in the NE states was Worcester MA. It was in the late 80's on business.

Make hay while the sun shines, so they say
Glad to hear the equipment is holding up, I know you've put a lot of work into keeping everything running.

Doh! Feeling a bit bad about this
Guessing it had nothing to do with that big curb you hit at 30mph, huh.
I'd ship you a set if I had 'em
, but thinking you don't want any more help from me.
Funny, the same thing happened to the Auburn Tiger football team this year after I started watching them... They just fell apart at the end of the season -- next year I'm watching 'Bama.
