Tire Example
«

I've spent a very long time looking through this forum and around on the net for an example of what the tires I think will look like on a truck similar to mine.
I have a stock 83 GMC 1/2 LWB 2X4 and I want to put a 31 X 10.5s on it. Does anyone have an example?
Here is my project, don't laugh, I got it for free.
I have put 15X8 rally's all around since the photo.

a wise man once told my dad something and he told me " it's not what you have, but its what you take care of" not a bad truck just need some paint from what i see and you can't beat a free truck and on top of that a free gm

I see nothing wrong with that truck. I am curious though, why do you want 31's? Are you building a pre-runner or just want to fill the fenderwell? I have some pics of my old Blazer before the lift that had 31's on it but it was also 4wd. I think it sat higher from the factory. Hope this helps. Nice truck btw.

Two reasons I want the large tires.
I want to fill the wheel well, these trucks just don't look right with the small tires the factory put on them.
I also want to make the truck as versatile as possible. The large tires will help clear obstacles if I need to go off road and I want LT's to be able to carry weight safely if I need to. I will also need all the traction I can get. I already have an Eaton posi and 3.73's.

I pondered lowering it, I do like the look better than standard height.
But this is the only truck I have and I want it as useful as possible.
I wont be doing any serious off roading so I don't care about four wheel drive.
