Love your truck Man ... Love lowered stepsides
Is that a custom made air cleaner, using K&N top ?!
If not where can I get like that two snorkel piece ( reminds me of my 75 Buick Electra )
One more Q .. how does those Italian horns sound like? I hope they sound like the OERs .'Coz i got same horns but they're still in the box
Wish U all the best
The air cleaner base is from a big block 69 vette. there are other similar ones out there but that one was the nicest w/ the best flowing base. i had the k&n lid and filter on it.
The horns were a little higher pitched but not mickey mouse sounding, they were on the truck when i bought it so they lasted somewhere around 15+ years.
since i like to talk about the truck and people have questions here's some that come up sometimes. I retained the stock v belt for all accessories w/ mild mods to each bracket due to headers, intake, etc, the valve covers were the smooth billet style back before everyone sold them on ebay. the truck was originally a 250 straight 6 w/ th350 and 2.7x 12 bolt rear. The rear gave out around 200,000 miles and the trans was holding up great but I got the 700r4 on a whim and that was an easy install w/ stock length driveshaft, stock crossmember moved back a little. The truck made enough power to light the tires up from a 40 roll on street tires, which was always fun when you're next to someone thats wanting to run at the next light.
Before I sold it I had started researching a C4(84-96) vette IRS swap w/ the possibility of doing the front as well. Its actually pretty straight forward and would have let me put the truck even more on the ground w/o loosing ride quality. however the long tubes were about 3" from the pavement.
I posted here to see whats going on in the truck world since i've been neglecting the scene lately and really hoping to come across the truck so i can finish it, everything has a price, etc. hopefully if i do find it its not mangled or hacked up.
again, thanks for the kind words and for letting me check out some of your rides too, some really killer set ups on here.
