Dash pad removal?

Good morning, I'm beginning to disasemble some of the interior trim in my '82 Silverado for dyeing purposes. Obviously the gauge bezel must be removed, but where are there any other screw mount points or clips for the dash pad?

I just didn't want to start "gorilla handling" anything


I did a search, but didn't find a topic discussing this........

There are some 7mm screw head down low above the glove box and a phillips head on the passenger side that is seen when you open the passenger door.

yeah, exactly. there is a button for the windshield antenna ( if you have that) and then maybe 3 or 4 clips that pull straight out. its a good time to add/upgrade the dash speakers too.

Yeah, my truck still has the factory windshield.....

As for upgrading the dash speakers....I'm actually going to remove them while in there. My truck won't have a stereo.....just the wonderful sound of a built SBC to make music to my ears

There are screws across the passenger bottom 5/16, one phillips (you need  stubby one) at the passenger side end, and all the ones in the bezel, plus you need to drop the glovebox and pull the vent hoses off the backside of the vent and the one in the center.

I got the dash pad out easily enough. The previous owner of my truck had the original dash covered in a maroon vinyl which had faded a bit. Being that the dash had been previously removed, some of those screws on the passenger side weren't present. You couldn't tell that those screws were missing though.... because of the dash being covered with a thicker vinyl it fits rather snugly.

I do have a couple questions though concerning the SEM paint/dye product....but I'll address those questions in a different post.
