The front is higher than I expected how much will that drop once the springs are seated?

How was the install, getting ready to put a six inch on mine and I am just curious if you ran into any problems? Looks good.

I had a lot trouble with the steering arm. took me a hour and half with a torch and air hammer to get it off. i also had to cut the front leaf bolts but other than that wasnt to bad for my first time. make sure you have air supply,torch and some type of spray lube.

I have a problem. My front driveshaft is rubbing when it rotates its botteming out on the tabs at the double joint. i have ground down the tabs a good bit but it still rubs, granted I am checking this with the truck on jack stands imagine when its flexed up. In my pic above the front end is quiet a bit higher. i was thinking of taking a single leaf out on each side to see if this makes a difference. I have five leafs in the front(Rough Country soft ride).I know they make t-case drop brackets but really dont want to do that.
Any advice or ideas??

i went back to the garage and looked at the transfer case and how it is lowered, question does this put a bind on the trans or on the engine mounts or anything like that??

I would drop the t-case since it's a SWB. I think it's only an inch. I don't believe anything would bind.

droping the transfer case isnt a problem, only goes about an inch, i dropt mine before i bought my 4 inch lift. I bought the same kit from rough country and my front sits lower than the rear, just installed it about a month ago, thats weird.

well i got a question for you, looking at other pictures of the front leaf spring packs, does yours have the eyelets pointing both upward, or does the front point up and the back eyelet point down?? mine is a 77 so shouldnt be different.

they are both up, that is weird how thay are opposite. I have stock rear springs with blocks. I think I am going to take the 4th single spring out on each side and see what that does. i hope that it looks better i cant stand seeing the front higher.

yea i like a leveled truck also, i have blocks in the back also, i gues rough country sent the wrong springs ill have to call them, because the spring eyelet in the back has very little clearance from the frame; being upside down. and i belive its hitting because it rides like a lowered minitruck monoleafed with blocks lol

If you take a spring out on both sides, the truck will be lower if you ar talking about the rear springs. It would be easier just to get bigger blocks on the rear. My 85 did the same thing when I out the 6 inch lift on. I think they all do. Proves engineers have questionable knowledge. I had a set of airbags that I put in the back until I can get the 6 inch rear springs. The kits usually come with springs that lift the front accordingly ( 4 inch in your case) and the rear blocks are shorter ( most likely 3 inch) My kit had 6 inch springs in front, and 5 inch blocks for the rear. I guess the dont expact the springs to sag any after 20 years.
