gas tank woes

today i finally got my new tank in and mounted. ran new filler lines and sending unit lines. i did plug off the biggest tube coming from pickup ass.(vent line i think) i did this cause it was a pain in the ass to hookup and i dont think i need it. reason why--i have a holley elec. fuel pump ive been running for about a year now. it has no return lines and has a built in pressure regulator.  when i hooked this up i left the old mechanical pump lines and just capped them off.    anyways truck ran for about 2mins then died. would start then die right away.  so no fuel getting to carb.   so is it the plugged line i did on the pickup ass.? i never bled the system b4 starting either--shiould i have?  any thoughts really appreciated  thankz  sorry for the long post

just a stupid story but it might be a problem. went out fishing on a boat and ran a couple min down the river and the engine started to act up. was on my uncles boat had no ideal what was going on knew it sounded like a gas problem, and sure enough he forgot to unplug the vent plugs on the tank. sounds like the same problem your having, not 100% sure though but good luck

On the sending units with three tubes the largest (3/8") is the main fuel feed, medium (5/16") is the vent, and the smallest (1/4") is the return line.  If you plugged the biggest, you plugged the one you want hook the fuel line up to (the one that goes all the way to the bottom of the tank and has a little sock on the end).

cant sleep haha  cant stop thinking bout this problem.  i did indeed plug the biggest line lol  i will re-route my hoses accordingly and see what happens.  thanks alot for the replys guys.  will keep ya posted--going out to fix in a few hours when theres some light.  again thanks

i plumbed in the last line and voila, she lives again haha.  thanks again for the help everyone- very much appreciated
