I believe that the placement of the logo on the tailgate is correct for that year. What are your plans for this truck?

first off, it needs wheels and tires..nothing crazy some steel wheels and some good used tires.  Current plans are to get it working enough to fix my house up and worry about it after that.  if i keep it...frame off resto and slam. stick with 350, maybe put in 5 spd instead of 3spd auto..chopped would be cool but w/e.  Ive done the mud thing with my 90 bronco and 88 4 runner and i know its fun but ive never done lowered before.  But, like i said get it running well and just haul plywood and sheet rock. Until I get my basement finished and redo 3 out of 5 rooms i wont have any budget for playing or aesthetic repairs.

It may be easier and cheaper to find a 2wd instead of converting that one. IMO
