« on: April 08, 2009, 11:11:53 pm »

What are you expecting out of your truck?
is this going to be a street/offroad truck? or just something to play in the mud?
Do you know what kinda horsepower are you getting with these changes?
Never give up.

Basically just for looks. Its going to have the offroad look but it basically just for looks. It doesn't say what to expect power wise but I'd like around 450HP tops. The cam is prob over the top but theres another truck cam I would settle with

i had a 74 350 bored, line honed, decked ,maged..etc, i bought the cam, rods, pistons and crank all for 1600.  the heads i bought used and had em redun ,,all tog they were 800.  the carb, intake and all the rest made it about 3500.00.....i have 450 hp,  its crazy to run in the bush and race gas only , that sux....watch the compression amd make it run pump gas..it will save you lots.  you can prob save and have you crank cut and polished and get an engine kit from jegs..summit..etc....

Keep your quench around .040 and run all the compression you want to. A 10:1 motor can run 87 octane fuel just fine if you build it with the quench right. It takes more planning and close attention to detail though.
