headers on stock 1987 305
« on: April 09, 2009, 10:29:51 pm »
thanks for all of the info to date--

another question came to mind. if i were to put headers and dual exhaust on my stock 87 305 are there any emission issues i need to be concerned about? for example.... O2 sensor / computer issues etc.
i am looking to keep it simple.

thanks

just make sure your headers have a hole for the o2 sensor thats about it. should only be one hole for the drivers side. just a word of advice use a x pipe or h pipe for the duals you will get much better performance

VileZambonie is running shorties designed for the 88-up trucks on his Mutt project.  Those might be a good choice for you.

the shorty's are good and they bolt up to the stock exhaust, and they are limited in power gain. but if your redoing the whole exhaust then the long tubes would be better.
