Another Okie joining in.
« on: April 13, 2009, 10:39:43 pm »
I have a 80 C10, short stepside.

my wife inherited this truck when her dad died about 9 years ago.  it never has ran very well so it has basically been sitting all this time.  hasn't been started in 6 years.  i am just now starting to get it fixed up.  bought a new battery.  it started easily, BUT, there is gas coming out of the top of the edelbrock carb.  i am guessing it needs a rebuild.  i bought the kit tonight.  i am also sanding and priming on the body too.  it is really scratched up and has a few dents and some rust.  i will need front fenders, hood and maybe doors.  bed seems ok; just needs new flooring.

Shweet. Is that a 4sp truck? It must be one of the 80's that carried over the 79 clip.

Are you saying that due to the lack of square headlamps?  If so, only high trim levels got those standard, it was an option on other trim levels (RPO V22)

Best of luck with your build. If you need any assistance, I will help in any way I can. Who knows, we may even be neighbors.

from what i know, square headlights didn't start until 81.  i am learning all the time though.  from the headlight bezels, you can tell too.

it is a 3 speed in the floor. it used to be colum shift though; not sure if it was 3 on the tree; i will have to look at it when its light out.
