thinking about changing wheels
« on: April 15, 2009, 10:53:51 pm »
so i got a buddy who has the stock chevy rally wheels with beauty rings and he wants to trade me for mine plus some money. the catch is i know a guy who has two rear centerline rear wheels. they are pretty wide but i think they can tuck under my rear fender wheels. plus i would still have the chevy rally wheels for spare. i put some pics of my wheels and the two different wheels i might be puttin on my truck. on top of that my torque thrust II's are not that nice any more. just wanted to see what you guys thought.

..I personally think rally wheels are among the worst looking wheels I've ever laid eyes on..I wouldn't put em on anything unless it involved me being paid a significant chunk of money...

it would definately have to be a large sum of cash to talk me out of those Torque thrusts in trade for some rallys'. Rallys are a dime a dozen, I would rather have the Torque Thrusts anyday. You could sell them and buy several sets of rallys. I need to add, this is your ride. If you like it, and think its a fair trade, then that is really the only thing that matters. Do what makes you happy.

To each his own.  If you are going for a stock look, I think ralleys are great (but I'm partial).  That said, I really like the way your truck looks now and I personally wouldn't make the trade.  Torq-thrusts really look fantastic on these trucks, better than they do on some hot rods and muscle cars.

I've always been a fan of the ralleys(painted). I plan on going that route with my 85. I'll paint them black with the center cap and no trim ring. Now in the pic your Torq Thrusts don't look too bad. I too dig those wheels. You could always get them repolished or paint them whatever color with chrome lugs. Just my 2cents.
