Overhead console from 90 suburban retrofit
« on: April 22, 2009, 08:59:01 pm »
has anyone ever tried to retrofit a overhead console from a suburban into a pickup cab. i know there are brackets that must somehow be secured to the roof and that the headliner must be cut. securing the bracket to the roof seems like a possible hassle. this would be nice to have but not important enough to spent a lot of effort. any ideas?

I looked into it. The console is too long and would have to be cut down to fit. I'm sure someone out there has made it work but like you said, how much time do you want to spend on it? The console out of a newer truck is probably easier (like the one in my full size 94 blazer).
I can get you pics of the 89-91 console mounting bracket this weekend if it will help you. They are riveted onto the roof supports on the suburbans.
