Getting more tires...
« on: May 14, 2009, 06:20:36 pm »
Getting some tires tomorrow.  The ones I have now are to dang rough and as it turned out, 3 of them are way out of round.  So they are gonna pro rate em and get me a new set for about $100 out the door.
I'm gonna try these goodyear Wrangler TD tires.  I may or may not like em, but for the price he's giving them to me for, I can't beat it for new 265/75/16 tires.  I do like how they look and I've found more good than bad reviews for them, so here goes....

i have those exact tires on my 2001 1500.  i like them, they handle good on the road, no more road noise than my old bfgoodrich.  they handle good offroad too.   clean out decent, and supposedly good mileage (around 40,000)

Here they are on the truck.  They are the same size as the old tires, but they are a tad shorter and skinnier, but that's okay.  I wanted 285's but didn't have the money for that much of an upgrade at the time.

They ride real good, and surprisingly they are very quiet, to me.  I can't hear them with both windows down.  They are a C rating instead of an E rating but they still have lots of capacity and all I do with it is tow anyway But I can still put more than 1 ton on it and go..  They're good to 50psi, so I'm all set.

Congrats dude, you have an awesome truck.
It haves a very stock look, that is always good. I rather have bigger tires on it, because they look very thin and inward... or i would figure out how to make them be out a little more.
Never give up.
