The 1.6 engine sounds funny to me. My motorcycle had a 1.8 in it and was only a twin. Just cant get used to the small cars, nothing against them, I just cant get adjusted to them.
I had a '87 Mercury tracer (which was just a re-badged Mazda 323) with a 1.6 liter 4-banger under the hood. Thankfully it was a 5 speed as the car was a 5 door hatchback. According to Wikipedia it had a whopping 82 horsepower, but I put plenty of paper horsepower on the back end to help make up for it.
