Thanks guys.
Pat the plan right now is mostly just getting it to where it could be a daily driver. Until recently it ran ok if I drove it several days a week, but with the wiper motor not working it was unsafe in the rain. I'm proud to say that despite doubting myself I was in fact able to get the wipers working again (I am no electrician), but since then the engine has had some issues and has refused to fire this week. So to this point it has mostly been maintenance, tune-ups, and minor cosmetic things. I've got a few small projects I am working on that should get it up and running, but after that any money I can save to put in this truck will be set aside to get the A/C working. Texas summers are just not anything to joke around with. Though is have a sneaking suspicion that by the time I scrape up enough dough to fix the A/C it will be just in time for our 2 weeks of Texas winter (50 degrees on cloudy days and some rain) and I wont need it anyway! Oh lord...
As long as we are dreaming though my intentions are to add an Edelbrock Performer Air-gap intake, valve covers to make the air filter, headers and Flowmaster. I would like to switch to chrome bumpers when I figure out what color I want to paint it. I am wondering how much trim I can add to it? I plan to redo the entire interior because it is pretty much all shot anyway, and I have never considered buckets really until I saw your corvette(?) seats that you are looking at installing. I've always prefered the nostalgic feel of the bench. I might compromise with a split bench with fold-up console. But, like I said, A/C is first, and with my boy growing up as fast as he is and the wife and I talking about a house in the near future, I am wondering if by the time I have the funds and the time to do all this stuff the truck will have rotted out completely hahaha.
And Antti I think you might already have me beat actually. You seem to be missing the dash cracks that I've got, and your seat is in better condition. You can't really tell from the pictures but mine has a slip-on cover on the bench seat, and underneath that cover there is ANOTHER slip on cover(?), and then below THAT there is a very very sad orignal vinyl seat. Except on the driver's side there is a huge chunk of foam missing that is being filled with an old green towel. It's lumpy, but it at least keeps my buttcheeks level. Which is important. Its uncomfortable sitting at an angle when driving straight, but anytime I would make a right turn I felt like I was going to shoot out the window! And your paint fooled me; yours was another one that made voting for this months truck of the month so difficult for me! I think that we both voted for the same guy in the end though, which does at least ease my guilt a bit.
