« on: June 09, 2009, 12:24:05 pm »
Ok tryin something i read here. Swapin out my toasted 700r4 in my 84 k10 for my built th350 out of my 72 chevelle. I built an extension to go between the trans and the 208. Ive measured n cut the trans tail shaft( short shaft 2wd) and now all i have left is to bolt it all together. I let u know how it turns out hopin it al goes well but there is allways murphys law!

Many companies make a kit like the one you fabricated. These kits come with a new tailshaft instead of cutting a 2 wd shaft. I pulled this one from a 91 blazer parts truck.

Thats the setup my 82 k5 has. I used to work in a fab shop so i thought id give it a try. I swaped in the 2wd th350 and built a custom drive shaft to get the truck home. Now just waitin for a break in the weather to make it 4wd again. Hard 2 get anything done without a shop when its raining!

How did you hook up your kick down linkage? If you buy the complete conversion kit it comes with an adapter to use your 700R4 TV cable on your turbo 350. I'm sure if you search for it on google you will find the adapter.

The truck has a universel throtle cable bracket and as edlebrock cab. I just hooked the kickdown cable up and adjusted it. I think that why 700r4 died because the p/o didnt adjust the tv cable right because of that bracket.
