HI All,
Just bought an 1983 Chevy C20 Silverado with all factory options including a factory 454 V8. 28K original miles, gorgeous original interior. Even the 2 tone exterior paint is still original and holds quite a shine. Even the bed looks like it wasn't used much. No rust anywhere!!! Just HAD to get it. I'm in love with it and it's not even here yet. It's still in transit being shipped to me by DAS
I Paid $2375. I have no idea if that's a good price. Heck, I've no idea what these older trucks are worth

Like to get an idea from all of you.
What is the standard HP and Torque for a Chevy C20 Silverado with factory 454? I've read conflicting info varying from 205, 210, 235 and 240HP

And finally, I'm intending to use this new truck for towing the lighter of my 2 horse trailers. Trailer loaded weighs 7K. Will be towing approx 200 - 300 mi round trips each weekend. Most likely will not use this truck for around town driving.
Right now I use a Ford F250 Super Duty with the V10 engine and it does a fantastic job. Would like to dedicate the F250 to tow a heavier Goose Neck horse trailer and use the Chevy for the 7K trailer. Will the Chevy be able to handle the load? And will it stand up to the frequency of towing I intend to do with it? I know it will most likely not tow as well as the Ford, but still...
I also have an 1985 GMC Sierra 2500. Not in great cosmetic shape and smaller 5.7L engine and manual trans. But just use it around the farm.
Love these trucks!
Thanks!
