well this time around im boxing in the frame an refabing the rear 4link. I have already cut the rear wheel wells but in these pics they havent been cut yet. It lays half or the rear tiers in the wells. my motor cought fire last time so im redoing that again. i'm thinking of a dropped crossmember but it already lays the crossmember about 1" from the ground so not shure if i really want to spend the money for just a lil bit more. i also need to fab up front shock mounts an fab up somthing for the radiator to fit in the front. im also fabing up some solid motor mounts to. The mirrors i just run it till i get stoped haha. Im trying to find some HIDs for it to. An if any body is running into ground clerance with headers i bought some patriat mid lengths that are for 67-69 camoros they were only $180.00 an came coated already an they are 1 5/8 primarys to a 3" collecter. they work great. ill have some more pics next week when i start pulling the frame out. thanks for the replys. i was jus wondering on the dropped cross member does it raise the motor up any?

Porterbuild can design/built the Dropmember any way you want it as far as engine placement and drop height, to a point. It will get the truck lower, but he won't make it low enough to drag the ground or aleast last I heard. If you are happy with the way it is, it is a judgement call on your part. There are other benefits on the Dropmember, rack and pinion steering and updated suspension geometry.

Hey, great looking truck! You said that your crossmember is about an inch off the ground? Is that with the air out? If so, how high is it set at drive height? My crossmember is 1 1/2" off the ground(not on purpose). I'd love to bag it one day.

That thing's a beauty! How do you like the blower on the 350? Does it run well? I just about bought a 84 SWB that was 'frame off restored' (sounds better than it was) with a 671-blown 383. Motor looked great but when I asked how it ran he said it would bog off the line and then go eventually. Had a single 4bbl on it. I figured with a 383 and blower it should rip the tires off at anything past 1/2 throttle.

well i only got to drive it once before it cought fire but let me tell you what all i have to say is wow. it's a gm create motor 350 4 bolt i put protopline heads on 205-160 an the runners are huge for cast heads cant remember the numbers. i installed a comp cams nitrous hp cam 488-501 lift in inches 113 lobe sep an put a 750 double pumper on it. it's dynoed at 500 hp an 550 ftlbs its a wild ride. i gave it a 1/4 throtle an it sat there with wite smoke. its realy fun i cant wait to git it back on the road again. im also only 2-3 lbs of boost. an the cool thing about this mini blower is it starts to work at ilde to 6500 unlike the 671 they hit hard at about 3500 then they set you in the seat. my buddy had a 69 camoro with a 383 an a 671 blower with dule carbs an it was the fastest car i have ridden in. an thanks for the kind words. hey if your intreasted in building a blower motor look up carcraft mag .com they build a 383 with my same 177 blower an it made over 600hp off punp gas

well i started taking apart my baby an dang that went fast haha im all down to frame now. so in the next couple of days ill post some pics of were its at an keep ya posted on the progress. an man i have to say this site is great i found alot of info an alot of guy's that are really helpful. i found a thread on here an it was about moving your cab off the frame by your self an it made me think (huh i can do that) well i did git it but i would recimend a 12 pack an pizza for the 4 helpers it would have been a lil easyer an less stressful.
