77 Stepside "custom" mirror help
« on: July 24, 2009, 07:29:22 am »
I did a post in Members Projects about the trouble I was having with factory style mirrors and got great feedback. Since that post I have made up my mind I do not want to use either of the two available aftermarket "OEM" style mirrors.
I am hopeful someone on here has used a late model or other mirror on their truck that will be what I am looking for. Don't laugh, but I saw a Hummer H3 with mirrors I could live with.
I hate to admit it but I have seen some late 90's Ford truck mirrors I like. Small mounting base, black with chrome. I would like to get a mirror I can paint the same color as the truck. Billet style is what I think they are called.
At any rate, if you have done a painted or black mirror, please post a picture or link to your photos.
I tried a peep mirror as a temporary fix but cannot get the one I bought to mount properly. Running without mirrors for now.
Open to any suggestions!!!

I saw your truck (a thing of beauty) and noticed you are running without mirrors too. Cops have gone by me a couple of times and to date, I have not been pulled over. Thanks for the compliment. Maybe some day I will find the right mirrors. Until then, the rear view gets a workout. LOL
