How do you determine your interior color?
«

As far as I can tell, I still have the factory interior color in my truck. It is some kind of yellowish tan color. Course, that could just be the way it looks after 22 years of service. I would like to be able to identify the factory color, so I can see if I would like to keep it. If it's in the glove box, what number on the sticker would it be?
Also, I could like to identify this factory color that another member posted in another thread. This would be in case I do not like the original color that my truck's interior was before it faded out.

If your sticker is still in the glove box it will say what color it is called.

I also need to know what carpet color/code would have been put in the truck that had the color of those door panels, if anyone might know it off hand

I just found out what the color of my interior was from my build sheet (it wasn't on my rpo sticker) and then went to acc and found the carpet with the same name. It may be an exact match or it may not to 1978 colors, but who cares it looks awesome!
For example my red interior was called FIRETHORN on the build sheet, and I got Firethorn Red carpet from ACC and Firethorn red paint from SEM and it turned out awesome.

They go by Stock Interiors on Ebay. I believe Chris sells the same thing right here on this site.

Thanks. My dash is already dark brown, but I gotta get a new one anyway as it's all cracked. But it's well worth it to be rid of those cracks imo.

I think I may have found where you mean. At the very bottom the sticker just says "Enamel". Then there is a wide space and some other letters and numbers that don't really look like they are supposed to come after the word "enamel". There is not anything else, like a color or anything. Is this number it?

Anyone know what that color on the panel is called? I really need to find out so i can start ordering parts lol. At first I thought it would be "Saddle", but all the e-tailers (online retailers) make the Saddle color look like a darker tan, sort of like the true Khaki color. Not the light Khaki that you will see most people wearing. Here is a sample, Looks like it could be the "Lt. Buckskin" color maybe? Or would it be light enough to be "Santa Fe"?

If it is an 81-87 it would be saddle for the plastic. Keep in mind only the seat and carpet on the factory ones actually "matched" Plastic only came in specific colors.
If you want to know how yours came, pull the door panel off and look at the back. It should be stamped into it with and X by the appropriate color..

Well I found out that particular panel is colored in "Light Buckskin". Finally managed to find a place in my town that sells the SEM stuff and I bought a can and tested it out on one of my factory door panels that I don't care about. Looks like almost an exact match to the panel in that pic, other than the fact that the one in the pic might be faded after all this time. So anyone else who may have been wondering, Saddle is the darker color, light buckskin is the lighter color. I was trying to get away from saddle cause it looks like.. i don't know, brown or something when it's new. They don't even sell the new seats that I want to buy, in that color. But i bet i can get pretty close with the light buckskin.
As for all those other colors like "Camel" and "Palomino" and "Santa Fe", i'm starting to wonder if those were ever even factory colors that were used by GM. Probly ford or crysler or something.

I've been looking at the same colors, wondering if the saddle was too dark. Thanks for the info Skunks.
