if i painted my vinyl seat with some of that fabric spray paint would it wear off?

Maybe try some colorbond, it works pretty well on vinyl, carpet, fabric......not sure how quickly it will wear off though. Plus it wont fill in the grain of the vinyl. Be sure and clean the vinyl really well with grease and wax remover.

I think that particular product would be your best bet. Be sure and acetone it first like the directions say.
