Guttin interior, some questions
« on: August 12, 2009, 04:59:20 pm »
Hi all, gutting the interior of 87 single cab 2wd. I took a few pics so I could ask a few questions about stuff. With this one the long black thing used to go behind the seats, up against the rear wall of the cab. Is it needed? What's it really for? I know that you can buy some of those metal brackets that hold the rear cab speakers, that hold bigger speakers, but what keeps you from just taking your cutting wheel (or whatever) and making the holes bigger so that the fit a larger size speaker? Why would you need to buy new ones?

It is standard on the Scottsdale but the Custom Deluxe it is not.  All it does is help keep stuff from rolling under the seat and keeps thing from rattling around.  I have a bunch of misc. tools and a long log chain in my Scottsdale.

The black thing is a storage holder of sorts, it had/has a shelf to place things in.
Due to the way the factory mounts attach, you can open it enough to mount a larger speaker.  There has been people who have flipped the stock ones and then opened them up, but you still have to modify them to mount correctly.
