First time builder Installing Rear Slider (seal question)
« on: August 26, 2009, 10:53:42 pm »
This is my first build...I'm still learning to say the least.  My '85 K10 had a rear slider in it when i got it(pretty sure it was factory). Sold that slider (and didn't pay any attention to it) and purchased a new after market one off some guy. Old seal is good shape and planned to reuse it.  Problem is the seal has about a half inch groove for window frame to sit in, and the new slider has a thin fin to place in it...so have all kinds of movement and making it impossible to install.  I have done some reading on here and have came to the understanding there is thick and thin grooved seal? Overview is I want to use the aftermarket slider I have(thin finned)...so need to know if what I have read is true and there is a thin grooved seal and where to get one.   only show one seal for all back glasses.  Also would like it to have the "locking zipper" but not a must.
Thanks for the help...this thing is holding me up right now wasted two nights fighting this window.

Sorry, I don't know the answer but I would like to welcome you to the site.  Great bunch of guys here, you should have an answer fairly quick.
