How about a free parts section?
« on: September 07, 2009, 05:50:44 pm »
Recently 87 Oldyeller stepped up to the plate and offered some free parts to whoever responded first. How about a section for anybody to place an ad for free stuff they don't need anymore.
I wouldn't be looking to give away the dana 60 thats under my workbench. But I have some odds and ends that I would give to any member that wants to pick them up.

All the Classified sections will require site supporter, whether it is free or not.  Reason is, how many are willing to pay for a user to get a part, not many, therefore you can assume there WILL be people that will try to bypass site supporter by upcharging the shipping to cover their parts.  Been there, done that.

Site supporter is currently at $2 a month which is cheap and you could actually SELL thousands of dollars worth of parts for 365 days and make money.  you already have a perfect audience, so no there won't be free classified sections, we already went over that.

What I am saying is there will be no Classified section availible to non-site supporters, other than Found on, which has been abused a number of times recently by users posting their stuff in there.  If that keeps up, it will be site supporter only also.

Site supporters can post anything they want in the classified section, they can give it away, sell it doesn't really matter.

There should be a parts section because it helps the hobby and members always enjoy trading with each other.
