Greetings from the left coast
« on: September 18, 2009, 11:56:38 pm »
Hello all,
I've been lurking here for a while and finally decided to join.
I'm the proud owner of a '83 GMC SWB w/ a .030 over, one-piece rear main 350 w/ Dart Iron Eagle 2.02/1.60's, Comp XE268H, Edelbrock performer man, Edelbrock 600 carb, and Hedman ceramic longtubes. It also has a 700r4 trans and tall gears in the rear. Not sure what ratio, but it turns ~1600rpm @ 70mph on the freeway, which is great for mileage but not for the converter.
I have 90% of a TPI setup that I'm planning on combining w/ a Megasquirt eventually for power and economy.  I'm also planning on lowering it ~2" w/ airbags in the rear to keep it level while towing.
I'm looking forward to getting to know the rest of you and learning  a lot.

Cheers
'83 GMC SWB 355: Iron Eagles 2.02/1.60's, 270/111LC, 1.6's, Edel/Weber 650, d/p mani, 1 5/8 longtubes, 700r4, and tired-ass factory rear leafs.

Welcome aboard.

Hmmm...1600 @ 70 mph sounds suspiciously like 2.73's.

Thats what I was thinking, too. I should get in there and change the oil anyway...
