Is the glass the same?
« on: September 23, 2009, 02:55:18 pm »
Is the back glass the same on the '85, as it is on the '87? I found a solid back glass to replace my raggedy, run down sliding back glass. And for only $20. I am eager to buy it, but I know better than to do so without asking if they are the exact same. Anyone happen to know? My luck I would buy it and not have it fit, for some reason.

Its the same.  81-87 is the same thinner glass.  73-80 will work, but I would get another gasket.

Do you think it would be possible for me to re-use the same gasket? Right now I have the sliding back glass, and I am wanting to replace it with a solid piece. Do the gaskets interchange?

Depends on who made the sliding glass.  The factory supplied slider used the same glass.  Some aftermarket ones didn't.

Did gm ever make a factory smoked glass slider? I found one for $70 and am getting it. Just wondering if it is oem or aftermarket from somewhere.
