Same deal, if you get in a crash unless your engine stops running your fuel pump is still pumping with a carb. Not only that but you've got a bowl full of fuel waiting to spill out if you tip. So what's the difference?

thanks for the clarification. I didn't know that. I just know on the Cherokee we used to have, we had to replace two of them...the dang engine kept cutting off while we were driving it. Another reason she was sent to the crushers.
