str8bloc where are you from? It's hard to understand posts that aren't punctuated etc because you can't really understand what people are saying or asking.

What's a mid texter? Grammar not grammer. just american cause in anerica we talk american? In the US we speak English. Just hit spell check at least and try to use punctuation.

Cutting half the electrode off it for hard core performance engines, you will see NO gains on a stock engine, just get the stock plugs and gaps em .045 and hook up your electric choke.

BS.. on one stipulation... if you have the ignition system to fire the increase gap. a hotter spark will alway burn fuel better then a colder spark.

compared to a .060" to full removal of the strap i notice 2mpg pickup  less throttle for given mph, and quicker throttle response.

i just got a fresh 468BBC built currently gettign hte rings to set... 9:1 small cam 208/214* performer 0396 intake and 049 heads and a 750cfm performer carb

im running MSD 6A wiht pro billet distirbutor and a blaster SS coil with AC R43T gaped at .060"

if the school alows me to i will pick up another set same plugs and cut the strap off then re-dyno.

I'm saying  you are not gonna find magical HP with em on a stock engine.

Really?  People cut off the side electrode or the center electrode?  I'm gonna try that.

it wont work with stock ignition system... its not strong enough to jump the rough.125-.20 " gap from the electrode to the plug wall

also high compression it doesnt really liek i either.. it will blow the spark out... unless you get plug that are made like that.

As an electronics tech, removing the electrode on the plug doesnt make alot of sense. I do understand how it would work with a higher discharge ignition system, but seems to me its mostly just putting a higher, unneccassary load on the ignition system. General rule of thumb for plug gaps I use is .010 for every 10,000 volts . Notice earlier points ignitions were .030, first HEI .045, and newer systems are .060. The coil voltages with relate as well.  Anymore gap than necassary seems a waste.

more for learning here..

i run a baster SS coil.. on 2 of my vehicles.
one is a 9.7:1 383 gapped @ .080"
blow 454 was strapless
other is my newly rebuild 468 @ 9:1 gapped at .060(still playing wiht gaps to figure out what works best)
both enigine run MSD super conductors 8.5mm wires with less then 50ohms per foot resistance
heres the specs
http://www.msdignition.com/Products/Coils/Street/Strip/8207_-_MSD_Blaster_SS_Coil.aspx
Maximum voltage: 40,000 Volts
Peak current: 300 mA
Spark duration: 220 uS

that replace the baster 3 on both engines that i have been running for 4-5 years
Maximum voltage: 45,000 Volts
Peak current: 140 mA
Spark duration: 350 uS

via your logic as a electronics tech the blasster ss should run a smaller gap then the less potient blaster 3 coil.. even though the SS coild puts out x2 the engery of the blaster 3..

wiht the blaster ss i notice increse mpg and power over the blaster 3.. with out changing the plugs..

yet what you say is exact opposite?!?!?!?!?
