What have you guys found is the best way to change the color on door panels? I tried some colorbond and it scratches off with my finger nails.  Thanks for any help

you can try all the dye and plastic paint you want...
nothing will truly hold up. I know, I have tried. All of it scratches off far too easily.

You used the SEM, according to the directions on the cans? And with the proper SEM prep? As a test, I have done a small section of my door panel, right where my arm always goes. It seems to be holding up fine after months of use, on the most used spot. Not looking forward to doing the whole interior though, so I keep putting it off.

I would say you didn't prep it well, it should last for a while under normal use if done properly.

Only thing with that SEM paint is... it's made for plastics and such, not metal. Right? Well then what's the best way to match the colors, when you are painting the metal trim around the headliner? And the other metal trim as well, such as the metal arm for the visors.
