15X4.5 wheels
« on: November 18, 2009, 01:39:28 pm »
What does anyone think about running some 15X4.5 wheels on the front of a C10 stepside? I am looking for the classic big & littles look, inspired by the old match bash racers of the day. I was thinking 15X4.5 and either 15X8 or 15X10 for the back end.
I was also thinking of mounting some 215/75's on the fronts.
Any possible issues?

I think you really want 6" tires.  215's are WAY to wide for a 4.5" rim, that is TINY.

Your right. I considered the 4.5 'cause I can't find a 6" wide SLT Muscle Mag anywhere! For 15" wheel 5 on 5 it goes 4.5" wide 7" wide and 8" wide.
No 6" wide! I don't think the "new" Ansen comes in a 6" either. Terrible. I'm set on having the 5 slot wheels on my C10.

I've been running 4" or 4 1/2" front wheel for several years on a nearly daily basis. I have been really surprised how well they drive in corners considering the weight on them. I'm running 205 75's tires (that appears be about the widest that go on them). If the truck is lowered enough, they can look correct I think. Not your best for slalom racing or braking I suspect ;)  Lorne
