Temporary Shop.
« on: November 22, 2009, 10:15:06 am »
Would anyone have any good suggestions on a Temp shop. I was looking to build a frame out of maybe PVC pipe and use blue tarp's for walls and roof. But I need a floor I though about cinder block floor and fill in the ones I would drive on with cement. I just need something that can be moved. I want a nice shop but having to move every 2-4 years I can see building a big shop just to leave it. Thanks for the info.

What size would you be looking at? Is a solid floor essential or a luxury? I'd think you would be spending fair bit of money on concrete blocks just to leave them behind. (or the effort to take them with you when you move...not to mention the effort of laying them to begin with.

How much would a concrete slab cost you to pour? Not sure about your area & it's building codes. (Surely snow isnt an issue, but wind?) Around here, it would be considered a temporariy building which needs to abide by certain building codes. Many farmers use an arch truss framing and a good quality cover. Lasts for years and can be relocated. What about building your own framing and having a tarpmaker do up a good membrane?
