1) No, i'm still confused---i need a more complete run down of:  how many actual trucks do you have(running or not), what exactly(more detail) are you trying to do(i'm still unclear).

a) And, if i may so bold madam, this may be part of your problem----disorganization.

2) What exactly are you trying to tow?
a) How much weight?
b) How often?
i feel that towing is more a matter of gearing than engine nessesarily;  What rear gear ratio you got?

3) My feeling(s) on engines are that:
a) i would never buy jazzed up engines out of the paper like that.  If these engines were so good, why are they selling them?  Also, i would want an engine that actually idles without stalling out all the time.

b) If you're going to go used, only go for stockers----i.e., 305's, 307, STOCK 350's, 265,301's etc.  For instance the 305 i bought in 2002 for a twin turbo project that still has not happened is now in my truck and it runs great----it can idle all day without overheating or without wanting to stall out every 3 seconds.

If you want a "hot" engine, get a stocker and build it up yourself (not actually completely recommended by me either, but at least you know what you got).
NOTE: these are my personal feelings regarding engines, but i think they hold some validity.

Much more later.
i have 2 trucks, one of which is just to salvage parts from, for which i got the 350 from that's now filled with water like i dumped it in a lake. (mysteriously)

i've got all the parts to lower it, i paint myself just despise body work, so end result is a nice low rider, nothing too low, with a nice paint job. i want it to run well, have some balls to it, but still be functional to DRIVE where i need to go.

as far as towing, nothing serious, i owned a motorcycle shop before i got sick, and a small trailer to haul maybe 3 or 4 crotch rockets, with shirts and gear packed to travel show to show is the end goal.

all said, i want it to be nice and clean, nothing done backwards, if i can't do it, which being in the hospitall all the time kinda prohibits, i'll pay to have it done. i do however, want to save money where i can, i'm not loaded to just dump endless amounts of cash into this. i'm trying to get it back together soon so i can drive it since i get my license back in a week.

tehy pulled the motor today, so i'm going to order the kbs frame kit, since the por 15 didn't stretch as far, and get the rest of teh frame done next week when that's all here. by then i'll have the rest of the money for either of those motors, so i wanna get them cleaned up as well, painted and dropped in.

i probably won't worry about the suspension til after the winter, nor the body work. i have all new fenders, both in and out for this, new hood, etc. the truck can be 5 different colors til the snow is done and the idiots that can't drive in it are on dry land and i won't have to worry about them smashing into my truck.

did i lessen the confusion lol?

Would you consider buying another parts truck. You can always find a beater with a good 350 motor for a few hundred bucks on Craigslist.

that's what i've been looking for. between the two that i have, i've almost made my money back for what i sold that i didn't need on ebay. with the exception now of having to get yet another engine for it. but i really don't need the extra pile of parts that it'll turn into nor do i really have the space to bother with it.

here's engine no. 1":

and no. 2:

not that i can tell anything from looking at it, and obv u can't tell what's going on internally.

Engine #1 is prettier.  Engine #2 is more colorful.  I hope these observations help you in your decision. :P

LOL

I love the yellow cylinder heads...I may need to do that to my engine and call it a Half Cat (as in Caterpillar colors) or, paint the block John Deere Green and I'll have a John Deere engine.

As for the choice...go w/ your gut instinct.

Take number 1, looks taken care of. Number 2 looks like poor maintenance.
